Overview

ScrapeLocal ("we", "us") provides a web dashboard and a Chrome extension that help you extract publicly available business information from Google Maps and Instagram and export it to CSV. This policy explains what data we handle and why.

Data we collect

• Authentication information: your account email and name and a session token, used to sign you in and connect the extension to your ScrapeLocal account (via Supabase Auth). We never collect your password.
• Website content / business information you extract: publicly displayed business details from Google Maps (name, address, phone, website, rating, review count) and from Instagram business profiles (handle, name, bio, website, follower count, and email where the business has published it publicly). Because this content can include names, addresses, and email addresses, it may constitute personally identifiable information about those businesses. It is stored in your account so you can manage and export it.
• Usage data: extraction counts and timestamps, used for billing and plan/credit limits.

The Chrome extension

The extension runs only on google.com/maps, maps.google.com, and instagram.com pages, and communicates with its own backend at app.scrapelocal.com. It reads the publicly displayed business listings and profiles you are viewing and sends them to your ScrapeLocal account. It does not read your browsing history, your personal communications, your location, or your activity on any other site. It requests only the storage permission (to save extraction progress so it can resume across page loads) and the tabs permission (to open the target platform and move between pages during an extraction).

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending. We use the data solely to provide the single purpose of this product: extracting publicly available business information and exporting it for you.

How we use data

Solely to provide the service: store your lead lists, enrich emails/socials from business websites, generate exports, and enforce plan limits. We do not sell your data.

Data sharing

We use trusted infrastructure providers — Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting), and Razorpay (payments) — who process data only to operate the service.

We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for advertising and analytics. It records page views and conversion events (such as sign-ups and purchases) to help us measure and improve our marketing. You can control ad tracking in your Facebook settings and via your browser.

Data deletion

You may delete lists and leads at any time from your dashboard. To delete your entire account and associated data, email support@scrapelocal.com.
